UTAU help - standalone consonants?
Okay, I’m having problems with UTAU that I can’t find answers to again. I’m OTOing a new Latin voicebank, and because of its language, it needs several standalone consonants, especially “s” and “st”. The recordings for those phonemes are absolutely fine and clear. But when I actually put them as a lyric in the song, they don’t play. “s” just turns into a strange short thumping sound, and “st” doesn’t make any noise at all. I checked and made sure they were OTO’d correctly. I compared them to banks whose “s” and “st” consonants work fine (e.g. Camila Melodia), and they’re recorded and OTO’d almost exactly the same.
Update: It’s happening for “th” too. I’m starting to think it’s going to happen to all of my consonants.
So…does anyone know why this is happening, and how to fix it so that I can have working consonants?
